Antique silver plated hotelware Gebr Hepp fish forks Hotel Central The Hague
SKU: BD192Set of six antique silver plated fish forks, marked on the back with Hotel Central 's Gravenhage (The Hague, The Netherlands). The forks are made by the renowned hotel silver producer Gebrüder Hepp, who supplied the well-known hotels worldwide at the end of the 19th century.
In 1880 the Grand Café du Passage was built in The Hague with a covered shopping arcade with terrace tables on both sides. In 1885 the Hague Passage was built and the name of the hotel was changed to Hotel Central, possibly to avoid confusion. Later the hotel was renovated to be used by the House of Representatives.
Marked: Gebr. Hepp and 50.

In used condition with wear consistent with age and use. Two forks have a slightly bent tine, see photos.
