Chinese porcelain bowl with wise man Early Republic
SKU: CW109Antique Chinese porcelain bowl, decorated in onglaze with a depiction of an old wise man sitting in a garden with flowering prunus. The Chinese symbolism is reflected in the three red bats (happiness) and the three friends of the winter (bamboo, pine and flowering prunus). The rim of the bowl and the base ring are decorated with gold.
Unmarked, to be dated Early Republic, 1917 - 1935.
Dimensions: diameter 17.1 cm, 8.5 cm high. Diameter base ring 7 cm.
In excellent, undamaged condition. Some wear on the gold rim.
