SKU: AW270In the 19th century, so-called Plats Parlants (Talking Plates) became fashionable; faience earthenware plates with a historic decoration. The topics ranged from military life, hunting, monuments or the customs of French urban and rural society. Fables, rebuses, proverbs and folk songs are also represented or engraved on these often satirical or caricatured pieces.
