Vallauris cobalt blue and gold cup with saucer
SKU: CD38Vallauris in the South of France is a well-known center for ceramic pottery, Picasso lived here for a number of years. The modern Vallauris pottery is characterized by the use of lead glaze in intense colors, the design is often typically Mediterranean.
This beautiful cobalt blue cup and saucer with thick gold trim is an Empire style design.
Marked: some cups are marked with Vallauris, the saucers are not marked.
Dimensions: because they are handmade, sizes can differ per cup and saucer. In general they measure; saucer diameter 12.5 cm, cup diameter 6.6 cm and 7.4 cm high.
In nice used condition with minimal signs of wear on the saucer.
