Japanese Meiji Hirado Mikawachi cup
SKU: CW177Japanese Hirado porcelain tea cup without saucer in a rare, oversized model. Made for export to Europe, the shape of the cup is European. Decorated in overglaze in Kutani aka-e style with red and gold with three cartouches with different representations (see photos). Made around 1875.
Marked on the base in red with a six-character mark.
Dimensions: diameter 9.4 cm, height 7.3 cm.
Condition: in excellent, undamaged condition, no wear to decoration and gold.
