Hardanger Norway Kongetinn meat carving set
SKU: BD144For lovers of Scandinavian tradition and design; Hardanger is a Norwegian manufacturer of pewter who introduced the very successful Kongetinn flatware line in the 1970s, depicting the saga of Viking king 'Olav the Holy' in a traditional way. Olav the Saint lived 1,000 years ago and although the Vikings are best known for their violence and barbaric customs, a lot of attention was paid to art and craftsmanship during that period. Legend has it that King Olav himself carved the dragon's head that adorned the bow of his boat. King Olav introduced Christianity to Norway and was later canonized. Many churches in Europe were named after him in memory.
The Konge Tinn 'Royal Pewter' series is collected worldwide.
This carving set is made of stainless steel with a tin handle with 3 Viking images; Heilag Olav in seated pose with bowed bow, Og Hans Menn, 3 soldiers ready for battle, and a Viking ship (with dragon's head on the bow) leaving.
