Japanese Hirado eggshell porcelain cup with saucer, made for export to Europe. Decorated in overglaze in Kutani aka-e style in red and gold with three cartouches with different representations (see photos). Made between 1875 and 1900.
Marked on the base of both parts in red with a six character mark: Mikawachi Nagamoto-za (made in Mikawachi by Nagamoto).
Dimensions: diameter saucer 12.5 cm with a raised edge of 2.6 cm high, diameter cup 7.8 cm and 8.5 cm high.
In excellent undamaged condition.
