St Louis Massenet crystal wine glasses
SKU: GK156Five Saint Louis crystal, cut wine glasses in pattern Massenet. This classic pattern dates from 1895. Parts of the service are still in production (the whiskey glasses and decanter), the wine glasses are no longer produced. Saint Louis (full name Saint Louis lès Bitche, Lorraine) is France's oldest glass manufacturer.
The glass has a facet cut stem with a facet cut large knob. The bowl is cut with fans and a crossed pattern.
Marked with the etched Saint Louis mark on the underside of the foot. This mark dates the glasses around 1950 - 1970.
The dimensions of this wine glass are those of the so-called Continental Goblet; diameter 7.3 cm, height 15.5 cm (6 1/4 inches), a larger glass than the antique wine glass from 1895, suitable for serving both red and white wine.
In excellent pre-owned condition.
