Rare transferware plate made by pottery William & Samuel Edge between 1840 - 1848 in Fenton, Stoke on Trent, England.
Marked on the underside with W&S E and the pattern name Humulus.
The deep plate is decorated with a blue transferware print with a tree-lined environment with a man and woman amidst baskets of fruit as the central decor. The band is decorated with roses and cartouches with a mother and child picking fruit.
Dimensions: diameter 27.5 cm, high raised edge of 5 cm.
