A pair of large Deruta Apothecary amphoras Francesca Niccacci
SKU: AWFI01Francesca Niccacci is a contemporary artist from Deruta with an international reputation. Her work is influenced by the Renaissance tradition, but also by the work of Alfons Mucha, the Czech Art Nouveau artist. This combination and the exceptional quality of her products makes her one of the leading artists in Deruta today.
This gorgeous pair of majolica amforas is decorated in traditional Renaissance style with typical Deruta colours like cobaltblue, turquoise and yellow. The pair has turquoise handles, an opening decorated with a threecoloured trim, a traditional decoration on the backside and on the frontside a medaillon with a cobalt background. The medaillon of the 'Acqa de Ruta' amfora is decorated with a two-headed dragon. The medaillon of the 'Acqa de Lino' amfora is decorated with a castle on a hill.
The base of both amfora's is marked by hand: dip.a.mano (dipinto a mano = met de hand beschilderd), F. Niccacci.
Measurements: from handle to handle 18 cm, height 28,5 cm, diameter base 9,3 cm.
