Armand Frenais silver plated oil vinegar set with Baccarat bottles
SKU: TAVZ1019Baccarat crystal oil and vinegar set in a silver plated holder. Bottles and stoppers are faceted. The model is described in the Baccarat catalog of 1907 as 'Gondola shape with flat ribs'.
France, Paris, 1914.
The silver-plated holder was made by silversmith Armand Frenais, who worked in Paris from 1877 to 1927. The holder has four feet, a carrier ring and two openings in which the stoppers can be placed when the bottles are in use. Various stamps on the base: the Armand Frenais stamp with anchor and the letters AF, A. Frenais, Ml Blanc (metal blanc), and 14. The support ring is marked 'blanc'.
Dimensions:
- holder 22.3 cm x 10 cm and 28 cm high.
- Bottles 21 cm high.
Condition: the silver-plated bottle holder is in excellent condition, without signs of wear. One of the crystal bottles has a chip on the pouring rim, but this is not immediately noticeable because the chip is in line with the shape of the spout (see the last two photos). The chip is not sharp, making the bottle still practical to use.
