The celery vase is a typical Victorian table accessory. The Mediterranean vegetable celery was also grown in England from the beginning of the 19th century, but the English climate made the vegetable a luxury, difficult to grow, specialty. The expensive vegetable was served as a centerpiece on the table in vases. This example is made of lead glass, cut in empire style with vertical lines, garlands and floral patterns. The thick foot is ribbed on the underside.

Material: lead glass.
Dimensions: 16.7 cm high. The foot has a diameter of 8 cm, the opening has a diameter of 10 cm.
